Are There Word Count Requirements for Paper Plagiarism Check? Let's Find Out Together

Some people may encounter this problem: after uploading a paper to a plagiarism detection system, the system displays a detection failure. Why is this? Actually, it might be because the format of the paper you submitted or the number of characters in the paper exceeds the maximum limit of the plagiarism detection system. Therefore, there are word count requirements for paper plagiarism checks. So what are the upper and lower limits for the word count? Different systems have different word count requirements for paper plagiarism checks. Let’s take a look below.

  1. Quillbot

Requires a content length between a minimum of 1000 words and a maximum of 100,000 words.

  1. VIP Paper Detection

  1. GoCheck

  1. PaperYY

  1. Ten-Thousand Word Detection System

  1. Checkpass

  1. PaperRight

  1. Turnitin (UK)

Requires a content length between a minimum of 100 words and a maximum of 100,000 words.

If the content length exceeds the upper limit, detection cannot be performed. If the word count requirement for plagiarism check is exceeded, it can be resolved through the following methods: First, count the total number of characters. If it exceeds the upper limit of the corresponding plagiarism detection system, you can convert some charts into images so that the system does not count them as characters. Second, simplify your descriptions by deleting overly verbose sentences and refining them to reduce the word count. Finally, if there is no other way, you may have to consider omitting some discussion points to streamline the article.

The examples above explain the word count requirements for paper plagiarism checks. Of course, there are many other plagiarism detection software not listed here. There’s no need to memorize these word count requirements because the detection system page will usually have prompts, and the word limit of plagiarism detection systems generally meets the needs of most papers. Here, I recommend using Quillbot for plagiarism checks, as it is standardized and convenient. Recently, when writing course papers, several of my teachers recommended submitting Quillbot’s plagiarism check reports. That’s all for now. I wish everyone success in writing high-quality papers and graduating smoothly!
